Pittsburgh, 1948. Joe Louis is about to make boxing history. Floyd “Schoolboy” Barton, a blues guitarist and singer, is on a collision course with fate. God, women, work, music and violence become common themes as friends gather in the backyard of a rooming house to pay tribute to Floyd following his untimely murder.
