HOME / SYMBIO
Symbio is a home currently under construction on Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands. After completion, it will be offered as a luxury vacation villa for rental.
Essential design elements include:
- Symbiosis: Choices of furnishings, art, accent pieces and colors have all been used to keep an efficient, very low environmental profile. For example, the exterior wall color is a sand color, and the choice of roofing material is the color of aged copper, much the same color as the vegetation around the home.
- Ultra-modern: There has been an extensive use of concrete and steel in the structure of the house, which has inspired choices of very sleek, highly stylized furnishings accented with bursts of Caribbean color.
- Nautical: Being in the Caribbean, there are several hints at elements from ships, such as the steel cable railing around the balcony, porthole windows in several places, a gate designed to look like a mast – even a lookout from above the master suite where you can get a 360° view of the ocean and surrounding islands.
Estimated completion is May, 2007.
